Third installment of Vishal Bhardwaj's Shakespearean trilogy, 'Haider' is a modern-day adaption of William Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet. The story of the film revolves around Haider, a poet, who returns to the insurgency-hit Kashmir and at the peak of the on-going conflicts he questions the disappearance of his father. He is tugged into the state politics where his uncle, Khurram is a candidate vying for power. He is confused when he finds the carefree attitude of his mother who is seen merrymaking with her brother-in-law Khurram. In the state of frenzy he searches every police station and detention camps but he finds his father nowhere. What ensues is a brutal tale of the reality marked by civilian disappearances in the insurgency-hit Valley.?é?á
